Environmental emergencies threaten ecosystems and human societies, demanding urgent and effective responses to mitigate their impacts. This course, "Environmental Emergency Management" is designed to equip participants with the critical skills and knowledge required to identify, assess, and respond to environmental emergencies proficiently. Over three days, attendees will explore the various types of environmental emergencies, delve into the complexities of environmental risk assessments, and learn how to develop comprehensive response strategies.

Starting with a foundation in understanding what constitutes an environmental emergency, the course will discuss the regulatory framework and the challenges involved in managing such crises. Participants will gain hands-on experience in conducting environmental risk assessments and crafting detailed response plans tailored to realistic scenarios. The program also covers the Incident Command System (ICS), emphasizing the roles and responsibilities crucial in an emergency response and training on using personal protective equipment (PPE) and techniques for post-emergency environmental recovery.
