How can investigators uncover the full pattern of domestic abuse when victims may be frightened, isolated, or unable to speak freely? Domestic violence investigations require more than responding to a single incident; they demand careful assessment of coercive control, escalating threats, and the circumstances that place victims at continued risk. A trauma-informed approach helps investigators gather reliable information while protecting victim dignity and safety.
Domestic Violence Case Investigation by LPC is a five-day course covering first-response procedures, victim interviewing, structured risk assessment, evidence collection, digital evidence, and prosecution case preparation. Participants will also examine relevant legal safeguards, multi-agency coordination, and investigative approaches when victim testimony is limited or unavailable.
Through realistic scenarios and practical exercises, participants will strengthen their ability to identify patterns of abuse, document critical evidence, assess risks of serious harm, and support safer, more effective outcomes throughout the investigative process.
