CES 2025: Ballie, Samsung's Projector-Powered AI Robot Ball Is Ready to Go in 2025

Samsung has revealed at their CES 2025 press conference that the Ballie household AI robot, which it unveiled last year, will go on sale in the first half of 2025.

You may engage with this adorable yellow rolling device by using its built-in projector to show pictures and films onto your walls and floors. However, no other details on cost or a more precise time frame have been disclosed.

'AI for All' was the theme of Samsung's keynote presentation at the CES technology conference in Las Vegas last Monday, when the South Korean business electronics behemoth emphasised the use of AI in-home gadgets.

Ballie: Revival with Higher AI Features

Ballie was first shown in 2020 and then revived in 2024 with a camera and AI capabilities. In addition to playing music and taking calls, it can provide video updates.

Moreover, Samsung underlined how all of their gadgets will connect and cooperate at home. One scenario provided was that your home AI device would instruct your hoover to clean up the debris after blow-drying your hair.

For example, if you wish to follow a recipe, an AI refrigerator can identify what's inside and inform you which items are missing. A custom AI washing washer and dryer with a seven-inch screen that can make phone calls and play music is also available.

Besides, Samsung introduced the Brook5 360 and the new Galaxy Book5Pro, which it dubbed AI PCs and which are equipped with the newest Intel Core Ultra processors.

An expanded screen that emerged in depth was among the screens that Samsung's business-to-business division is showcasing at CES, according to an exclusive preview provided by Euronews Next.

Further, robot dogs demonstrated their endurance by dancing, kicking, and backflipping on displays at another Samsung exhibit. Additionally, there were flexible panels that resembled paper and a folding screen on display.

A Breakthrough in Technology

Samsung also demonstrated a QD-OLED panel, which is said to have a 30% greater peak brightness than the one it debuted the previous year.

According to the senior Director of Marketing and Business Development at Samsung Display, Chirag Shah, this technology “unlocks the language of colour.”

Furthermore, Samsung told the Washington Post last year that you could text or call Ballie. Also, it grew to the size of a bowling ball, and it would be equipped with a LiDAR sensor to aid with obstacle detection and avoidance. It will be able to connect to older household appliances and turn them on or off thanks to an integrated infrared sensor.

During Samsung's CES 2025 press conference, Ballie received minimal references and no specifics. The estimated cost could be comparable to a custom Samsung refrigerator.

In summary, Samsung has confirmed the date of its Winter Unpacked event, which is expected to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, on January 22 in San Jose, California, during the CES presentation.
