Artificial lift systems play a central role in maintaining production from mature and declining oil wells, where natural reservoir pressure is no longer sufficient to sustain economic flow rates. Among these systems, gas lift is widely used due to its flexibility, efficiency, and suitability for a wide range of well conditions.

The Gas Lift in Oil Wells: Design and Operations programme by LPC provides a practical understanding of gas lift principles, system components, and performance behaviour. It covers design and optimisation using IPR/VLP analysis, valve selection, injection depth calculations, unloading procedures, troubleshooting, and network-level gas allocation. The course also explores advanced and smart gas lift technologies, digital optimisation tools, and AI-based surveillance to improve production efficiency and system reliability.

Through real field case studies and applied exercises, participants will learn how to design, operate, and optimise gas lift systems to maximise well performance and production sustainability.
