Sand production remains one of the most common challenges in oil and gas wells completed in weak or unconsolidated formations. Uncontrolled sand production can lead to erosion, equipment failures, reduced production efficiency, increased maintenance requirements, and higher operating costs, making effective sand management essential for maintaining asset integrity and long-term well performance.
The Sand Management in Oil and Gas Production programme by LPC provides participants with a practical understanding of sanding mechanisms, prediction methods, monitoring technologies, and sand control solutions. The course explores subsurface geomechanics, erosion assessment, surface handling systems, digital surveillance tools, and economic considerations, culminating in the development of a field-wide Sand Management Framework (SMF) for mature and sand-prone assets.
